SWAPO - SPYL CC in Okahandja

By: Namibia Today

The SWAPO Party Youth League (SPYL) is converging on the garden town of Okahandja tomorrow for a 3rd Central Committee meeting. Okahandja has been chosen strategically in order for members of the youth league to canvas and campaign for their fellow SPYL member Steve Biko Booys who is now the SWAPO Party Candidate in the 24 February 2010 by-elections. By far SWAPO Party is the only party which has mobilized and campaigned vigorously for the by-elections. Several SWAPO Party rallies have already been held addressed by Cde. Jerry Ekandjo, Cde. Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana, Cde. Hage Geingob and the Founding President. This weekend it will be the SWAPO Party President, Cde. Hifikepunye Pohamba. A white born free is expected to speak on behalf of the youth at the Star Rally.

On their part, SPYL which will be attended by 68 delegates from all over Namibia will kick off its Central Committee meeting at 09H00 and is expected to be officially opened by Dr. Albert Kawana, Minister of Presidential Affairs. Apart from Dr. Kawana, the Central Committee will also be addressed by Gazza and The Dogg, all of whom are Namibia’s top musicians. After the official opening, the Central Committee is expected to deliberate on a number of issues of national interest notably Youth Empowerment and Rural Development. There will also be a SPYL Braai at Back Street Bar.
