Self-confidence is the only fundamental approach to success
Greetings and wishes for 2010
By Cde. Juta Ndilipune Shikomba (SPYL Deputy Secretary), Windhoek, Namibia

While we are at the beginning
of 2010 I would like every person
mostly the youth to reflect on what
you did last year. This will help
you to transform your weaknesses
into strength and threat into opportunity,
develop your strengths and
make the most of your opportunities.
If you analyze yourself, this
will stimulate and strengthen your
self-confidence. You will only gain
this if you accept your failure, be
happy with who you are, with what
you are doing and how you do it.
Means, this will be determined on
how you perceive your personal
worth based on what you are aiming
at. You are the only person to
attain your purpose in life, your
status, and many more will be conquered
and achieved successfully if you boost up your ability to stand
on your own feet and feel in charge
of your life.
A self-confident person never
give-up on his/her goals that s/he
failed to attain but, smartly re-plan
and re-adjust his/her actions and
steps by rooting-out the negative
patterns that had been obstacles and
stumbling blocks . Failure just
means you are not yet at the successful
and reward zone. Never
declare yourself a looser, never allow
some people to take control of
what you should take, never allow
yourself to be a dependent, never
allow yourself to be remote controlled,
never abdicate your responsibility
and be doormat for other
people’s benefit. Failure is a price
of improvement so pay it in new
tactics, mechanisms, methodology
and always focus on your needs and
desire to successfully attain your
dream.
Every way to success has obstacles
but when you are faced by
challenges, never let them overcome
you be patient and face them,
increase yourself worth, find a way
to destroy them or let them go but,
never accept them. Human being
are born to succeed and not fail
because our strength increases in
proportion to the obstacles imposed
on it, therefore, never see
greater obstacles but always have
aggressive strength to overcome
them.
Successful person are always
guided by their inner feeling of certainty
and have positive and realistic
perception of their abilities.
They reduce on words or theory
and put more efforts on action, because
action speaks highly than
theory. To carry out this successfully
always, keep your emotional
maturity by knowing who you are
and what you have or want to offer
to your community, family or
to yourself. Only self-confidence
gives you the strength and courage
to create and attain your dream.
Never fear artificial alarm posed
to you, but bravely climb a successful
ladder. Believe in yourself,
understand what you are aiming
at and have faith in your abilities,
because without self-confident in
your own skills, knowledge and
understanding, you better never
imagine being living life as you
want e.g. happy or self-dependent
in your entire lifetime.
Remember every person born
in the word has or represents something
unique and original. Some
people call it a dream, because it is
just within you and this dream will
remain within you and will only
be a physical reality when you take
action. By doing this, never let
other people set limit in your plan
of action by labeling on your capability
and intelligence. Whenever
you are doing something, you
have to hear some people say you
are trash, yokel, not smart, not
qualified or even weaker to achieve
your goal(s) and your dream will
never be materialized. Always be
happy when people consider you
the way they assume or perceive
you to be, because your reality is
in your heart. Always handle criticism
positively and believe that,
your dream will come true. But if
you choose to please or satisfy their
feelings then you invade war
against yourself and choose to take
your dream along to the grave,
because it (dream) cannot be delegated
nor inherited. Naturally, it
is health to be surrounded by challenges,
because life without trouble
will never gain you extra idea; it
will be passive, boring and never
expand or broaden your horizons.
Difficulties strengthen your mind
and make you stronger but, only
when you are striving to overcome
them. Remember, a wonderful
and greatest success in life is the
bravely achievement or do what
people see or say you cannot do.
When you are in trouble do not
be stressed but always try to keep
a smile on your face, believe and
live in the power of good news
every day. Never feel guilty, envy,
selfishness, and pessimism, rejected
and discouraged because
these can drive you back completely
and you will never attain
your dream. It can also make you
feel like you are not really good
enough to carry out what you are
planning to achieve. When you
fall down do not think you will
never get up. Always look at yourself
and assess your ideas, knowledge,
and experience but never
build up obstacles in your imagination.
Do not let yourself to be
guided by the reaction chain e.g.
• To feel being know what others
know
• Pretend to fear what others fear
• Hate what others hate
• Point your finger where others
are pointing.
Do not neglect yourself, don’t
criticize yourself, and don’t waste
your effort, energy and time on
things which are not for you. Life
is not the Olympic game, so do not
compete but aim to add value to
your skills, knowledge and understanding.
Be realistic of what really
you want to achieve than being
pretending to serve things or
activities you do not have vision
on. Always know what you are
doing and where you want to go.
Feel special of who you are, cement
your individual strength, feel
worth and valve, by attribute these
to yourself, yourself-confidence
will grow and increase dramatically.
It will also gives you day
after day peace, joy and see what
is achievable in the face of constrains
rather than being follow and
be part of a reaction chain.
• This year I would like you to
knockdown all mental barriers to
happiness, concentrate on what is
crucial for you, do not attribute
yourself to a vicious circle of defeat
by under-estimate your capability
but always try your level best
to feed your brain.
• Set yourself an evaluation list
of pros and cons.
• Have faith and solve your
problems amicably.
• Do not consider yourself to be
the underdog but, confidently
commit yourself to your year
resolutions.
• Delete I n’t basis (I am not, I
should not, I will not, I cannot
etc) in your mind and be a path
finder.
• Seek help and help others to
attain their dreams.
To the parents!
We are the steering-wheel of our
children’s success. If your child
failed to give you the outcome you
had been expecting him/her to attain
please find away to motivate
him/her, indentify and implement
positive stimulus so that next time
expected outcome will be unreservedly
achieved. Avoid criticism,
abuse, neglect, reject or punish
your child, because these will
negatively affect his/her self concept
but always work harder to
transform him/her from a fixed
mindset into a growth mindset.
Inculcate in your children’s mind
that perseverance, patience and
fortitude, conquer it all and a thousand
mile journey started with one
step. Quite the contrary every
cloud has a silver lining!!!!
Last but not least:
Enjoy and live life to the fullest!
But remember, life is a cycle
always in motion. If good times
have moved on, so will too times
of trouble. Then take care!!!!
