Congratulations MultiChoice Namibia

Recently, our SWAPO Party Government the launched a patriotic campaign titled “My Namibia, My Country, My Pride” and encouraged all Namibians including corporate citizens to join the popularization of the campaign.

MultiChoice Namibia (Pty) Ltd has favourably responded to this campaign and decided to use local musicians and sport personalities in its adverts for the DSTV Bouquets countrywide instead of South Africans or Hollywood Actors. This gesture is welcomed and must be emulated by all companies including South African companies operating in Namibia such as Standard Bank, FNB, Checkers, Shoprite, Foschini, Pep, Ackerman, Edgars, Game, Jet etc. It should further be emphasized that this does not only apply to South Africa but also other foreign companies that are active in our economy.

For example, in a free and independent Namibia, there is no business logic why rural Namibia with predominantly black population cannot be supplied with black dolls instead of white dolls. Equally, there is no logic why billboards should be displaying foreign faces instead of Namibians.

We therefore call on all corporate citizens and indeed our government to ensure that Namibia and Namibians come first in all matters of national interest, economically, socially, culturally, militarily, spiritually and politically. My Namibia, My Country, My Pride must be our collective and individual motto.
