Born freed, born to vote for SWAPO

My name is Bloosom. I’m a Musician, a student and a proud SWAPO Member. I am aware that the independence I enjoy today did not come on a silver platter. The people of this country fought many years of oppression and segregation in order for us to enjoy independence as we know it today. SWAPO is a party that has a strong foundation. A party that was formed long before I was born.

I am proud of all the changes SWAPO has brought to this country since independence. I may not be able to relate directly to what it means to be oppressed. I may not be able to relate to what BANTU education was. I may not be able to relate to the internal slavery of the contract labour system endured by our fathers and grandfathers. I may not be able to relate to curfews. I may not relate to what its like to have traitors in your team while fighting for a common purpose.

I CAN, however relate to what its like to study at a Namibian institution of higher learning. I CAN relate to what its like to live in a peaceful country that is not marred by wars and disunity. I CAN relate to what its like to be BORN FREE and privileged in a country that fully embraces me and my talents.

I CAN relate to what its like to be given the chance to play a role in being at the forefront of developing my country.

I have seen many tangible changes in Namibia since independence. I don’t have a father but the SWAPO-led government has through its bursary scheme given me and many others the opportunity to study at Polytech.

I am so lucky to live in times that don’t demand as much of me as they demanded of my forefathers. I am so lucky to be young, talented and ambitious and have so many opportunities at my fingertips in the land of my birth.

I know where I’m from and I know where I am going. I know where my country has come from and I want to know where it is going that’s why I will vote SWAPO!

My message to the youth of this country: The future is ours. Lets be sure of what it will look like.

VOTE FOR CERTAINTY!
VOTE HIFIKEPUNYE POHAMBA FOR PRESIDENT!
VOTE SWAPO FOR A SECURED FUTURE!
