Elections 2009 - A Nation kept hostage by courts

By Mr. Willy Mary Amutenya, Namibia

In a capitalistic society (system) like ours, one is not wrong to be very much concerned and or not trust the courts at all. There is no genuine justice in the “democratic” court of law. What you see happening is a “competition” between lawyers excising their expertism in debating issues / cases. When they speak of good/excellent lawyer, is the one who “always” win court cases, perhaps by mean ways and a good liar. It is my strongest believe that to bring the national elections results where the opposition parties have been far away defeated is totally not fair at all. In sports, specifically in football worldwide, the referee’s decision is final and it has to be respected no matter what. Politics is just a game like sports, sometimes referred to as the dirtiest game in the world. Some bad and ambitious/selfish politicians can tell lots of lies before or after they have been defeated by their political opponents, and these bad losers can make things to happen in order to try their luck in another cruel way. Some opposition parties, especially the newly created Rally for Democracy and Progress, already before the end of the mass elections campaign started to com- ELECTIONS 2009 - A NATION KEPT HOSTAGE BY COURTS By Mr. Willy Mary Amutenya - A concerned SWAPO Party member plain that the elections are not going to be free-and-fair and exaggerated the situation by claiming that “SWAPO used to cheat elections before”. This is when they realized that their calculations were wrong and that they are going to loose the elections anyway. And I think, at this point of departure, an ambitious / cruel politician can skill-fully plan anything evil to deliberately disrupt the outcome of the elections. Evil people are good at this one. They know how to consult the dead people and the ghosts to vote in order to spoil the broth. If this really happened, it is like magic! In African culture we never bring magic cases to courts – never! If you believe that your opponent used magic in game to win, then use magic to fight him if you can – if you cannot, then walk away - don’t run to the court!

Ordinary people (the majority) never understand the language of magic. When they hear of ghost votes, they are very much scared and ask: What happened to our really votes? They know for sure that they voted for SWAPO Party and surely they will win. Now all for sudden somebody is calling them non-thinking voters and confusing things with “ ghosts and dead people’s documents used in voting”, this is too much for an ordinary honest person and, therefore, it sounds like magic. Therefore, no court!

By accepting to take the contesting of elections results to the court, the law in this country is painfully victimizing the majority voters who dedicatedly voted SWAPO Party and His Excellency President- elect comrade Hifikepunye Pohamba as their democratic choice to govern this country. Now the nation is kept hostage, waiting for the court’s “decision”.

The winning of SWAPO Party was and is unavoidable! It was foreseen by great men and women of the Namibian history from all walks of life, including the former opposition DTA veteran politician oom Dirk Mudge, who honestly had time to assess the prevailing political situation in the land of the brave. Nobody has the power to defeat the God-given prophesy of any kind, not even the “court of law”. Let us wait and see, because we are already kept hostage by those who love their stomachs than the nation!

In conclusion the fundamental question here is: how many times are the bad losers going to exercise their socalled democratic rights to bring the elections results to court? Why is it unique to happen at the time when the new RDP lost the elections? We must start thinking of the nation and not of those who are crying foul for their own benefits.
